"What"

The border conflict between Northern Ireland, also known as The Troubles, was a thirty year conflict that was started because half of Northern Ireland wanted to be apart of Great Britain and the other apart of Ireland. The start of the conflict began in the 1600s when English rulers claimed Irish land. Protestants that lived in the area claimed by England were forced to punish the Catholic church. But in 1920, Ireland gained its freedom from England. This would cause the border conflict of Northern Ireland.
