The conflict ended with some peace through the 1998 Good Friday Peace Agreement. Although a peace agreement was created, violence still occurs, but a lot less frequently. Peace activists like Dave Cullen and Trevor Ringland have continued to promote peace throughout Ireland in order to show the citizens that violence is not the answer.
